Go-Today.com delivered another quality vacation... very pleased! Hotels met or exceeded expectations. This is a self-guided tour. Consider:
1) Get a good guide book (Rick Steves' Spain) to prioritize sightseeing;
2) Let Go-Today book a 2 extra nights in Madrid. You can take outlying tours (Segovia & Avila & Toledo & Escorial) & see all Madrid sights without rushing.
3) Full day Toledo/Escorial tour does NOT go in Cathedral. 1/2 day tour goes inside.
4) Madrid subway is frequent & inexpensive. With a few transfers, we took it from airport to Puerta de Toledo stop next to Hotel. We pack light. Used subway frequently around the city.
5) This trip comes with Eurail Pass. Pay about 10 Euro for each segment you upgrade to high speed AVE trains.
6) Occidental Hotel Cordoba is a few miles uphill from town. Taxi's cost between 6.5 & 9.5 Euro for each trip you make between hotel & train/downtown. Share with others to reduce costs & make Spanish friends.
7) Let Go-Today.com book 2-3 extra nights in Malaga. Hotel & breakfast was great. Intercity buses are frequent, inexpensive & reliable. You can take self-guided side trips to Ronda (white-hill town) / Granada (Alhambra) / Nerja (beach town - Balcony of Europe). If we had an another day, we would have gone to Gibralter.
8) If you don't want 20-min walk, the #19 bus - next to Hotel in Malaga - can take you from Hotel to intercity bus station. We also took it to airport. It's frequent & only 1 Euro. Taxi's also lined up right outside Hotel.
Thank you Go-Today.com!
