A group of 12 family members had a great time in Belgium. We stayed in Brussels for a couple days and did day trips to Brugge and Ghent before heading off to Paris and Amsterdam. I think Brussels is underrated among Western European capitals. Lots to see and do. Xmas was a great time to be there because the Winter Fair was going on. Great food, people were friendly, lots for the culture hungry to see/do. Would definitely reccomend to others.

My brother and I recently went on a go-today.com 3 day break to Brussels. The Le Dome Hotel (2) was great, except the warm mimi-bar. However, there was a grocery store right across the street and that saved the day! The hotel was only steps from the Rogier metro stop, making it very convenient to get to the downtown area. Yes, around the corner from the hotel was the red light district, but we experienced no problems. The only real gripe we had was with the flights- Delta out of JFK was horrendously late both coming and going- they also lost our luggage on the way back. Had it not been for the flight portion, I'd have rated this a 5-star trip.

This is our second trip that was booked with go-today.com. We had a very relaxed weekend in Brussel. Eating chocolate, waffles, drinking beer everyday were major activities. Of course, we did side trips to Antwerp, Gent, Brugges and enjoy the beauty of Belgium. Thanks for the arrangement, we hope to do another trip soon.

We were very happy with our LeDome Hotel selection. The rooms were extra large for Europe and had a great breakfast buffet included. It was a 5 min. walk to the train station and 10 mins to the Grand Place. It was our first time to Brussels and we loved the people, museums, food, and ease of getting there. This was our 3rd Go-Today and will surely do more.

We booked our Brussels tour through
go-today.com. This is our 2nd trip with go-today.com and we had a great time. The Hotel (LeDome) was in an excellent location (less than a 10 minute walk from the Grand Place), the rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. The breakfast was really good.
We would certainly book another trip through go-today.com.

This was our first trip overseas and we loved it. The hotel was not the greatest, but we spent so little time there that it did not make a diference. We would go again in a heartbeat. Thanks you for a great vacation!

Great flight over on Delta. Brussels is very walkable w/ many good restaurants & sights to choose from. Hotel Siru was nice & clean for the price w/ wonderful buffet breakfasts. Most Belgiques speak English so it's a breeze getting around and very friendly people. Bike rentals for the day were $9.00 each(10 a.m.-7:00 p.m.)and rode along a tree-lined canal for lunch at Damme. Bike's have the right of way! We took the train to Brugge and spent 2 nights in this very charming village. Very good French wine can be bought from stores at $5.00-$8.00. We always have a bottle in our room before venturing out on the town. Return flight had lots of empty seats, so grabbed two-center sections and napped.
Our second trip with go-today.com. You came through again, many thanks. Steve & Betsey Snow of Cape Cod.

We just returned from the Belgium Winter Special offered by go-today.com (March 7 - 14). The trip was excellent from start to finish! We flew non-stop overnight from Newark to Brussels on Continental. We arrived in Brussels at 8:00AM local time, and the airport was practically empty. Going through Customs, exchanging US dollars for Euros, and collecting the luggage was a breeze. It was easy enough to find the airport express train right into Brussels, and the one way ticket was less than 2.40 Euros.
Finding a cab when we arrived at Central Station was a little tricky, as there were none in front of the station, and the taxi sign seemed a bit confusing. In any case, the people we asked for directions were really helpful and friendly, and all spoke English. We had upgraded our hotel to the Bedford. This is a beautiful 4 star hotel in an excellent location, 4 minutes walk to the Grand Place. Our original room was extremely small but the staff had no problem in moving us to a larger one. The buffet breakfast included daily was excellent. The staff provided directions, a city map and recommendations on things to do. The hotel is near everything - restaurants, convenience stores, exchange bureaus, internet cafes, shops, etc. Everyone we met in Brussels, Brugge, Antwerp, and Liege were very friendly and helpful. English is never a problem, although we made sure we started and ended all conversations with French phrases (bonjour, bonsoir, sil vous plait, merci). Our recommendation is to visit the grocery store Delhaize, near the Bourse on the Boulevard Anspach. You can pick up soda, water, tea, snacks, ready made sandwiches, and all kinds of Belgian cookies, jams, and chocolate bars for souvenirs. The chocolate shops in Belgium are mind-boggling, each more incredible than the next. The weather for most of the trip was in the mid 50sF and sunny. We did need an umbrella for 2 days though.
Something to be aware of - train travel on weekdays is nearly double the cost of weekends. If you plan multiple trips out of Brussels, a suggestion is to buy a 10 trip train pass for about 56 Euros. A round trip is considered 2 trips. We also went to Paris for one day on the high speed Thalys train. The lower fare (50 Euros) was sold out, so we spent 75 Euros for a mid-week trip in second class. The train was more cramped and crowded than any second class domestic Belgian train, but only took an hour and 20 minutes. Parisians do not generally speak conversational English, and a few French phrases should be memorized. Be flexible, patient, and remember you're there because it's not like home. Also be aware that public restrooms charge about 30 cents. You can get city and Metro maps at the train station, and doing some homework in advance would be very helpful in maximizing time and travel around the city. Don't miss the fresh-made chocolate crepes from little sidewalk shops!
Go-today.com did a wonderful job providing this great trip at such a great price ($469 for air and hotel), and we will definitely use them again!

Go-today.com offers wonderful customer service. The Art Siru Hotel is a unique venue and excellent value. Couldn't ask for a more convenient location for this city. Three days is the perfect amount of time to "Do" Brussels. A day trip to Brugge is a must!
