Iceland Travel Guide
Travel to Iceland Iceland is a truly delightful place to visit and is unlike any other country in the world. The country is officially a part of Europe, but differences between Europe and Iceland are vast.

One of the most exciting things to do while in Iceland is visit an Icelandic pool. These steaming hot pools are heated by the magma which is constantly bubbling underneath the island.

The most visited city in Iceland is Reykjavik. Reykjavik has everything you would expect a modern city to have, but it also has a spectacular old town charm. As soon as you touch down in Reykjavik you will realize you are not in a typical big city. Near the airport are barren lava fields that welcome you to Iceland. The majority of the sites in the city are all within walking distance, which also makes for a fantastic way to enjoy the surroundings.

While in Reykjavik you must make plans to dine out at a local restaurant. Icelandic specialties, including seafood and highland lamb, are a delicious secret among travelers. The seafood is fresh from the morning’s catch, truly a delight for your taste buds.

Iceland is also a great place to do some shopping. Reykjavik is home to the large Kringland Mall. As an added bonus, shopping in Reykjavik is tax-free for visitors. There are numerous designer shops as well as places to pick up souvenirs for your friends and family.

There are also numerous festivals that take place throughout the year in Iceland. >From Viking festivals to wale watching, horseback riding to elf-spotting tours, there is so much to do and see in Iceland. With its stunning scenery and modern city of Reykjavik, a trip to Iceland is a magical vacation.
